Elizabeth I blues

Here she is, almost finished! But... I am not happy with her. At all. I've been a slow finisher, it's taken almost a year, and a lot has happened. I think that my slow pregnant pace has affected my gauge, because the sweater is waaay too big! I cast on for size M, but this is more like a XXL... it works for a pregnant body, apart from the sleeves. Not very funny really, I've tried knitting a swatch and shrinking it in the washing machine, but that took away the pattern. I'll try one more time, and if that doesn't work then I will have to take the pieces apart, measure, zigzag on a sewing machine and Cut!

Mia, sorry to read your disappointment. On the photo, your Elizabeth I looks just gorgeous. I hope taking it in at side seams and sleeve seams would work for you. I have a pullover which needs a similar treatment in my closet. There is no way I will re-knit the whole darn thing.

I, too, feel the Elizabeth knits up large. I am making my size according to the measurements and keep looking at it, it looks big. I haven't pulled it out in a month or so...yours looks beautiful. Great color
